This position is for 25 hours per week, weekday hours, to manage both church offices
(note: individual work days will be in only one location)

Duties to include:

  • Preparing weekly church bulletin and PowerPoint presentation
  • Managing the office and office computer system; updating church webpages and Facebook pages.
  • General office filing, assisting with some financial responsibilities
  • Greeting visitors, booking rooms

Other duties as agreed upon by the Minister and Office Administrator 

Location:  3474 Gladwin Rd, Abbotsford, BC and 33077 2nd Ave, Mission, BC

Compensation: starting at $17 per hour with benefits as per the Employment Standards Act and United Church employee policy. These include medical benefits and yearly cost of living increases.

The successful applicant will work with one clergy who ministers to both congregations; service planning duties overlap. Our Churches are small, friendly congregations, inclusive, including LGBTQ. We deliver faith and community-building programs within and beyond our congregations.

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Internet, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Record keeping and filing skills
  • Good communication skills and accuracy in printed work
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Some knowledge of web page management
  • Ability to complete work in an environment where there may be distractions

As this job is in two communities, a reliable means of transportation will be needed
