Needing to Hire?? Save MONEY & TIME

Wage Subsidy Agreements provide Employers with:

  • Potential candidates registered with AbbotsfordWORKS
  • Reimbursement of a portion of wages during work experience term
  • Case Manager supports and job coaching, if required

Eligibility:

The EMPLOYER

  • Is typically in business for over one year
  • Has a Revenue Canada business number and WorkSafe BC registration
  • Operates in compliance with the all regulatory legislation

The POSITION

  • Will not be filled by the applicant without the wage subsidy
  • Will not cause another able employee to be laid-off.
  • Is typically 35 hours per week of insurable earnings paid at the prevailing rate

The APPLICANT

  • Is unemployed/underemployed (working less than 20 hours per week)
  • NOT a current employee or student
  • Is currently receiving regular E.I. benefits, or received E.I. in the past 3 – 5 years.
  • Is in need of work experience / on the job training. (new graduate, immigrant, long term unemployment, or a person with a disability)
